Active Travel Network Map Consultation
Bridgend County Borough Council is undertaking a statutory 12-week public consultation on the Active Travel Network Map (ATNM). This will take place from 13th July 2026 until 5th October 2026.
Active travel is a term used to describe walking, wheeling, and cycling for purposeful journeys to a destination, or in combination with public transport. Such journeys may be taken to travel to work, school or other educational facilities, shops, leisure facilities, public transport and so on.
We want to provide Bridgend County Borough with an active travel network that allows for walking, wheeling, and cycling to be easy and accessible to all. By doing this, we are promoting the health and wellbeing of everyone and improving connectivity of our towns and villages.
The current ATNM was published in November 2022 and the most up to date version can be accessed by following this link: Bridgend County Borough Council Active Travel Network Map Update 2026. It is now time to reflect on this and consider improvements to the network again.
Once you have followed the link above, the map can be enlarged by clicking the green “Display in Map Viewer” button. A larger display of the map will open which can be navigated more easily. A display on the left side of the screen explains the meaning of all colours and symbols shown on the map.
The Council welcomes all feedback which can be provided by clicking on the survey link below.
