Ewenny Road Roundabout to Brynteg - Community Engagement Survey

The proposed scheme aims to connect Brynteg Comprehensive School with the existing Active Travel Network in Bridgend. Phase 1 (to be constructed starting January 2026) will extend the existing route from the railway bridge at Hernston Lane along the A48 as far as Ewenny Roundabout. Phase 2 (the purpose of this survey and engagement) proposes to continue the active travel route from Ewenny Roundabout to Brynteg Comprehensive School, including a controlled toucan crossing so that pupils can safely cross the busy road. Phase 2 also considers some improvements that can be made to Hernston Lane and Priory Road to help pupils who are dropped off in those areas travel safely to school. Please refer to the map to see the overall plan that links Brynteg Comprehensive School to the existing network which leads to Bridgend Retail Park, Bridgend Town Centre and surrounding areas. We would like to get residents thoughts towards Phase 2 of the scheme, in which both the eastern and western side of Ewenny Road are being considered.
